10 · FAQ
2026 vs. 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 FAQ
When will the 2027 Chevy Silverado 1500 be available?
Chevrolet lists the 2027 Silverado 1500 as available late 2026 and says it will be available to order later this year. For current timing at Community Chevrolet in Meadville, contact our sales team.
Is the 2027 Silverado 1500 more expensive than the 2026?
On most trims, yes. Based on starting MSRPs published on chevrolet.com in October 2026, most 2027 trims start $900 to $8,500 higher, while the 2027 Silverado (LT/Z71) starts $300 below the 2026 LT. Prices exclude destination, tax and fees and can change.
Are the RST and LTZ gone for 2027?
Yes. The 2027 Silverado 1500 lineup is WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado (LT/Z71), Trail Boss, High Country and ZR2. The 2026 model year is the last with the RST and LTZ.
What happened to the Silverado LT for 2027?
It has a new name. Chevrolet now calls that trim "Silverado (LT/Z71)," and the Z71 Off-Road Package is standard on 4WD models. The LT Trail Boss becomes the Trail Boss.
Does the 2027 Silverado 1500 still offer the 5.3L and 6.2L V8s?
No. For 2027, Chevrolet replaced them with a new 5.7L V8 (402 hp) and a new 6.6L V8 (481 hp). The 2026 Silverado 1500 still offers the 5.3L and 6.2L V8s.
Is the Duramax diesel still available for 2027?
Yes. The 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel (305 hp, 495 lb-ft) continues for 2027. It is standard on the ZR2 and available on other trims, including the WT and High Country.
Which Silverado 1500 tows the most?
Chevrolet lists up to 13,300 lbs for a properly equipped 2026 Silverado 1500 and up to 13,700 lbs for a properly equipped 2027 with the 5.7L V8. Towing depends on the exact configuration, so confirm the rating for the specific truck.
Should I buy a 2026 Silverado now or wait for the 2027?
Buy a 2026 if you need a truck soon, want an RST or LTZ, or want a lower starting price on most trims. Wait for the 2027 if the new V8s, the larger screens on every trim or Super Cruise on High Country and ZR2 matter most to you.
Can I trade in my truck at Community Chevrolet?
Yes. At Community Chevrolet we'll trade anything, no matter its miles, dings or dents. You can start with the Value Your Trade tool on our website, then finish the appraisal in person at our Meadville store. We also buy vehicles outright, even if you are not buying from us.
